The Orphanage
Open Door Mercy Home was originally founded and housed using four vacant rooms atop of the bishop’s residence. After modest renovations, the orphanage first admitted ten girls, in August of 2011, before later agreeing to accept sixteen boys from a neighboring orphanage that had lost financial support. While the orphanage is at full capacity, the needs of Eluru orphans have not exhausted. Unfortunately, Open Door Mercy Home is unable to accept every interested orphan at the current time. Space will simply not permit it. However, plans are in place to build a much larger, more inclusive building (see Building Project), of which the funding has not yet been provided.
We ask that you be in prayer about the direction of Open Door Mercy Home. By way of faith, we are confident that God’s abundant grace will touch each of the hearts of our children and will likewise provide all necessary sustenance according to His will. If you feel led by the Holy Spirit, we ask that you consider donating to the building fund.
