Divya is very new to the orphanage. She was brought to ODMH on September 23, 2011 after some unfortunate incidents left she and her brother alone. Divya’s father was a drunkard and committed a murder for which he was consequentially imprisoned. Divya’s mother, confident that the father would not return, decided to abandon the children by leaving them with their grandfather and not returning. The grandfather, unable or unwilling to support the children determined that life at the orphanage would be much better for both of the siblings. Divya is a beautiful, loving nine year old girl. Indian society considers Divya to be untouchable.
